Ken Jernstedt Field, Hood River, East of Portland, Oregon, 4S2

We took a day to explore Jernstedt Field in Hood River and check out a listing that hosts a hangar that is literally steps away from the runway.  The home at 1688 Orchard Road was pretty much set up to host small groups for events with ample parking space for cars and airplanes - it's on almost an acre (0.94).  The hangar is powered for heavy tools, and includes shop space, kitchenette, guest quarters, full bathroom, and an office with additional loft for game/media.  The hangar is 60x80!  It’s attached to a 2388 square foot completely renovated home with 3 beds, and 2.5 baths & bonus/flexible use rooms too.  Upon landing, the listing agent, Bill Irving with Copper West Real Estate, was there with a welcoming smile and the hangar door open ready to give us our private tour!  Here's a video from Bill about his listing:  

It’s not often that you can land on a beautiful 3040 foot asphalt runway and taxi up to your house in 15 seconds!  Another plus is that the field is also host to the WAAAM Museum,  https://www.waaamuseum.org, which frankly if you’re into antique cars and planes, is not to be missed.  The museum displays are second to none for this kind of equipment!   Jernstedt is also home to an active sailplane community.  

Hood River is widely considered as one of the Wind Surfing capitals of the world and it’s also within hours of several blue ribbon fishing locations.  Portland, with all the big city amenities, is 45 miles down the road so anything is possible.  Many Portlanders make Hood River a weekend getaway.
